1) Media development.
After Ebba Andersson’s fall in the relay, there was a debate about whether the criticism of the skiers was too mean. Yes, she rode badly up to the sedan chair. Yes, she was stiff and cowardly and clumsy when she fell. Everyone could see that. But at least she pulled herself together and luckily avoided the same treatment that hockey goaltender Tommy Salo received after another Olympic fiasco.
2) The football country.
Inter leads the Italian football league by far. Then a team from north of the Arctic Circle came and it was time for thanks and goodbye in the Champions League. Bodø/Glimt won both games and show what planning and money can achieve. By the way, the team was only second in the Norwegian league last time. Viking won.
3) Population.
Bodø 2025: 53,725 people.
4) Soccerland 2.
On the same evening, Bodö/Glimt beat Inter, Atlético Madrid advanced 4-1 in the second leg against Club Brugge. The Norwegian Alexander Sørloth scored three goals.
5) The culture carrier.
There was once a time when Finnish ski jumping had problems with frequent washing. Now the culture of Igor Medved continues. The Slovenian was Finland’s head coach during the Olympics but was sent home in the middle of the Games. According to the Iltalehti newspaper, Medved was under the influence of alcohol for several days.
6) Cultural carrier 2.
“We need to breed someone like him.” Bettina Burud has great feelings for her partner, the Norwegian five-mile runner Emil Iversen.
7) The favorite.
Alvar Myhlback became the record-breaking winner of Vasaloppet 2025. Now he is favorite to win again.
8) Favorite 2.
Stina Nilsson single-handedly secured victory in the women’s class last year. Now she is favorite to win again.
9) The Olympic country.
During the Olympics, two young Italians managed to place themselves in different contexts by claiming that they were active from Mandostan. A country that doesn’t exist.
10) The Olympic meeting.
The two Italians attended a German party where they met football coach Jürgen Klopp. He had never met anyone from Mandostan. Neither has anyone else.
11) The hockey fan.
Donald Trump joked that he had to invite the US women’s team to the White House, and America’s hockey men laughed. Her laugh was worse than Trump’s “joke.”
