The silence closes around your ears like a vacuum. The sound in the headphones stops, leaving behind a galloping heartbeat and studio lights staring at the stage. When Felicia presents melody number four as “My System”, only one thought runs through your head:
“Now I’m dying, so I’ll die now,” says Felicia Eriksson as she describes how it will feel just before she is set to perform her number on the Melodifestivalen stage.
On Saturday evening she is there for the second time, but for the first time as herself.
When DN meets her At the record company Warner’s office in Stockholm, there is still a little more than a week until the competition. January powders in front of the window while Felicia walks quickly past the bottom of the stairs.
– I’ll just change the mask, she says and disappears into a room and changes the mask from the Adidas mask to one made of black lace.
Less than a year ago, Felicia Eriksson lived in complete anonymity as monkey queen Miss Snusk, always wearing her pink robber hat with the Louis Vuitton logo. Since then, she has taken her first steps out of the epadunk and into the public eye.
But the mask is still on, albeit more revealing.
“I wear a mask because I don’t dare show my face,” she says.
As Felicia Eriksson She grew up in Tullinge near Stockholm in the early 2000s and suffers from social anxiety. It’s hard to ride the bus, be late for school, and meet new people.
At the age of 20, she became the phenomenon Miss Snusk with the song “Ride me as a dala horse” and only a few people around her knew that she was one of the most booked artists in the Nordic countries. The pink mask becomes a way to have the courage to be yourself and overcome social fears.

At the same time, the touring schedule is getting tighter and it’s getting harder to stay in touch with people outside of the Miss Snusk bubble, especially because their identities have to be kept secret.
– I felt very bad at times, and that’s probably because I couldn’t process what was happening. “Everything has accumulated and built up inside me, and when you’re that age you have to ventilate,” she says.
These days, social fears are a part of Fröken Snusk, but Felicia Eriksson is still not ready to take off the mask. It remains to be seen whether there will be smoke in the live broadcast.
“For me it’s a trauma thing, I’m afraid of being recognized and once I come out with who I am, I want to decide for myself,” she says.

In spring 2025 One day Felicia Eriksson wakes up and realizes that she is no longer Miss Snusk. She was replaced.
– I’ve put all my life and all my time into Miss Snusk. “Suddenly she wasn’t mine anymore and I felt like my whole life was gone,” she says and continues:
– Now it’s the best thing that could have happened to me. I’m so grateful for that.
What actually happened when Felicia Eriksson was replaced is still unknown. When DN meets her, she cannot comment on this or her former music producer Rasmus Gozzi.
What is clear is that she never stopped singing.

Shortly after the transition, she begins uploading Tiktok clips in which she blurs her face and sings Disney songs under the name F. After a while, F becomes Felicia and finally she reveals her full name.
In recent months, she released three singles, including Felicia’s debut “Black Widow,” and won SVT’s reality show “The Game.”
“It’s been a turbulent year with a lot of work, but it’s been fantastic to work with a record company that I feel safe with,” she says.
On Saturday evening For the second time she takes the Melodifestivalen stage at the second competition of the tour in Gothenburg.

Finally, she rode in on a pink Dala horse and made it to the final with the song “Young & Free”. Now, when she competes as herself, it will be in English with the number “My System.” She describes it as something completely new for the music competition.
– The song is about constantly thinking about someone. Whether you’re traveling with friends or alone, you can’t lose that person from your mind or your heart, says Felicia Eriksson.
Is there anyone you think about when you perform? “My system“?
– No, absolutely not. The only thing I’ll think about is not dying. I just go into my bubble and do my best.
Melodifestivalen airs Saturdays at 8 p.m. on SVT1 and SVT Play.
