The Newspaper of the Year industry gala is organized by Tidningsutgivarna and nine winners were crowned at the awards ceremony on Thursday.
DN excavation leader Mikael Delin receives the “Media Leader of the Year” award. The citation for the award states: “With an unwavering journalistic drive, this leadership takes trench journalism to a new level.”
– I am extremely happy and grateful. Of course, this is entirely thanks to the fantastic excavation reporters. I am so proud of everything we have achieved together over the last few years. “Working with them is a favor and the best job I can imagine,” says Mikael Delin.
The overall prize went to Corren. According to the award justification, the magazine shows “what happens when an entire team works purposefully in the same direction over a longer period of time.”
Nerikes Allehanda was named Editor of the Year for her coverage of the mass shooting in Risbergska in February 2025.

The Newspaper of the Year industry gala was launched by Tidningsutgivarna in 2005 to highlight quality journalism and the democratic mission of the media industry.
Winners are selected by independent panels of judges with extensive knowledge of journalism, business development, entrepreneurship and social issues.
