In “Skavlan & Sweden” Ebba Andersson is asked if she was ever jealous of Frida Karlsson.

    – Yes, I did. Especially when Frida broke through. It was a gigantic impact at the 2019 World Cup. At the same time, I had a pretty hard time. I felt like I didn’t make the most of it myself. It was hard right away. I wasn’t really prepared for that, says Ebba Andersson in Skavlan.

    – It felt like we had to overcome that threshold a little bit because everyone was shocked, not least myself, because it went so well. And my whole life changed in an instant. I was on the junior team and you were on the senior team. So we didn’t have the same relationship we have today. “We had to go through that to get to the good relationship we have today,” says Frida Karlsson in response to Ebba Andersson.

Get it in the interview Frida Karlsson and Ebba Andersson also asked themselves the question about the last five-mile race at the Olympic Games, which ended with gold for Andersson. Frida Karlsson, who won gold in the opening two distances at the Olympics, was ill and unable to take part.

    – I followed the “broken bus”, sat on the phone and looked. When you left the stadium, I saw that Ebba (Andersson) was skiing relaxed and as well as she could. And then there’s no one who can challenge her in the five miles.

As a follow-up question, moderator Fredrik Skavlan asked if Ebba Andersson was happy that Frida Karlsson didn’t take part in the five-mile race, and the answer sparked reactions:

    – I was asked this question at the press conference two days before the race. “Then I felt like it was perhaps the stupidest question anyone could have asked,” she replies, as the moderator quickly apologizes.

    – You have to understand what elite sport is about. It’s almost always about challenges. “When Frida is at the starting line, we can talk about challenges,” she adds.

Frida Karlsson tells also in the broadcast about his previous statement about his resignation after the 2027 World Cup in Falun.

    – I have determined the point at which I will stop. My club applied for the SC final this year. It was designed to write the end of the story, says Frida Karlsson.

    – I don’t want to take this for granted. That it won’t last forever. And I really want to make the most of the time I have right now, she adds.

Many have also commented on Frida Karlsson’s decision to quit in 2027, to which she reacts.

    – I get a little “triggered” when people say, “You can’t stop.”

    – I can do whatever I want, she says.

Ebba Andersson also receives questions about the planned departure of her national team mate.

    – When the news came out, I felt like, “I’ll believe it when I see it.” Even then, it’s hard for me to see them stop. But it’s Frida Karlsson we’re talking about, it’s high and low.

It is not so clear when it will stop:

    – I felt now during the Olympics that I feel like I have one more in me. “But you can hear the difference, I think,” says Ebba Andersson.

Skavlan & Sweden will be released on Thursday, February 26th at 3pm on SVT
