Bernard-Marie Koltès’ In the Solitude of the Cotton Fields is a modern classic about power, desire and negotiation. Two strangers meet at night and start an exciting conversation about living conditions. Koltès wrote it inspired by nighttime meetings in New York and the piece is known for its rhythmic dialogue. At the end of the sports holidays, 26th – 28th. February, the city museum invites you to role-playing games for young and old. Visitors can take part in adventures such as “Dragons and Demons”, “Mutant” and “Dungeons & Dragons”. Here you can take part in character creation workshops, listen to lectures on the role of game leader, and participate in conversations about queerness in role-playing games. The focus is on five historical prisoners at Gripsholm Castle: two deposed kings – Eric was imprisoned as a traitor. The castle served as both a district prison and a place for political prisoners in several eras. Gripsholm’s own expert, the former castle caretaker Jim Sjöberg, reports on this. The Vasa Museum opens on March 4th
The exhibition “James Cameron – Challenging the Deep” will open at the Vasa Museum on March 4, 2026. Here you will encounter props from Cameron’s films such as “Titanic” and “Avatar” and can follow his groundbreaking deep-sea expeditions. Through film clips, objects and underwater cameras, audiences can experience unfamiliar marine environments and Cameron’s technical innovations. Concert – New music series in the Folkoperan

Folkoperan celebrates 50 years and opens Foajén as a new afterwork scene with live music. Opera, chamber music and philosophical lectures await you here. Magnus Holmander (clarinet) and David Huang (piano) will perform at the premiere this evening. Concert – British indie giants play in Stockholm

With her mixture of glam rock, post-punk and everyday British realism and several brilliant albums, she achieved her breakthrough in the 90s. With Brett Anderson’s charismatic vocals, they created a dramatic, raw and beautiful world that made them pioneers in indie rock.
The latest album “Antidepressants” (2025) was highly praised. Next week they will be on stage at Frihamnen in Stockholm. If there are still tickets left, you need to hurry up.

Lecture – Celebrated and hated regent turns 400
“Queen Kristina – Fragment, Material, Eternity”
Livrustkammaren, Thursday, March 5th, 6-7 p.m.
This year, Queen Kristina’s 400th birthday will be celebrated with concerts, lectures, balls and banquets in the spirit of the 17th century. Kristina, celebrated and controversial at the same time, continues to fascinate today. She went her own way: refused to marry, renounced the throne, converted to Catholicism and left Sweden.
Next Thursday, Superintendent Sofia Nestor will tell about the last days of the regent, the funeral in St. Peter’s Church and the opening of the grave in 1965, when textile fragments and a lock of hair were brought to the Livrustkammaren.
