One of Sweden’s biggest music exports, which has also been nominated in six categories at the upcoming Swedish Grammy Awards, is in the doldrums. Tobias Forge reveals it’s time to put Ghost on hold after the band’s world tour wrapped up in Los Angeles on Tuesday night.
Forge needs to spend more time with his family, he says in the podcast “Full Metal Jackie,” writes NME. Forge has a wife and two teenage children at home who have been secondary for many years.
– Believe me, I have a guilty conscience.
Tobias Forge did it too a number of other things that attract. Among other things, he has recorded two film projects and music alongside Ghost.
– So I still have a lot to do in the next few years. And all the hobbies I put aside for the last 15 years while Ghost was my everything, he says.
In the podcast interview, Tobias Forge says nothing about when Ghost will return.
Ghost was founded in Linköping in 2006 and initially had secret members. But in connection with a legal dispute within the band, their true identities came to light. The singer and songwriter Tobias Forge with his new pseudonym Papa V Perpetua is the only remaining original member.
Last fall, Ghost became the first Swedish band in 30 years to top the US album charts, and the band has been touring North America for the past month.
