On Wednesday, DN presented its annual financial statements for 2025. Profit amounted to SEK 289 million (245), which was the company’s highest single result in the 2000s. The Bonnier News group, to which DN belongs, is also increasing its profits.
2025 was also a year in which DN’s journalism made an impact on the public. The Swedish National Security Advisor’s review won the Grand Journalism Prize in the Disclosure of the Year category in November.
“It is clear that there is a great demand for things in which DN invests heavily: in-depth journalism, an extensive network of correspondents and photographers, high-profile voices and, last but not least, the country’s leading cultural pages,” says DN editor-in-chief Anna Åberg.
The development of the newspaper Subscriptions are the main reason for the strong economy.
In total, DN had 427,000 subscribers at the end of 2025, 338,000 of them digital – a number that now also includes paid family subscriptions.
– We will use our favorable location to make more journalistic investments. We will tell you about one of them shortly, says CEO Anders Eriksson.
