According to TV4, Sebastian Samuelsson had problems with his rifle during the so-called shoot-in before the start.

    Still, he started well.

There was no sign of the success of the mixed relay on Tuesday at the start of the 20-kilometer endurance race in Antholz.

The right speed However, he was missing both on skis and when shooting. But when all of the seeded drivers had completed half of the race, the 28-year-old came fourth.

His Swedish colleague Martin Ponsiluoma initially did even better and came second after two shooters. But on the third attempt at the fence, Ponsiluoma missed twice, was penalized with two minutes of extra time and saw the chance of a medal disappear.

However, Samuelsson continued to shoot with all his might – and gained a golden position before the last shot.

Then came the booms, two of them.

It wasn’t enough for the podium. Samuelsson finished seventh.

Martin Ponsiluoma stopped at three bars and finished ninth. The experienced Jesper Nelin missed two shots, which left him in eleventh place.

Olympic debutant Viktor Brandt had a good performance, but made three errors on the last shot, four in total, and provisionally took 37th place.

Norwegian Johan-Olav Botn took gold, Éric Perrot from France took silver and Botn’s compatriot Sturla Holm Lægreid took bronze.

The competition is still ongoing. The text is updated.
