CircusMania 2026
6th-15th February, in several locations in Stockholm
This year’s new circus festival begins today on twelve different stages in the district. Here you can see everything from DIY circus (do-it-yourself), stand-up circus, slow circus and a telepathic hybrid circus. The festival features chaotic folk music, drawing robots and whale skeletons in more or less spectacular shows.
“This year’s festival is characterized by newly created works in which many artists examine the roots of circus and reformulate them for our time,” says Kiki Muukkonen, festival director.
Here are some tips on events you can see during CirkusMania:
* Cirqus Hialøs – “limitless and unpredictable party where folk music meets circus”.
* Metaphoric Objects – “a juggling collage that combines circus and art history”.
* Space Wire – “Balance performance in a reduced meeting between space, audience and wire dancers”.

Weekend adventure in Tensta
The branch of the Technical Museum in Tensta, Hagstråket 11.
Maybe you can discover a new love for math. The branch of the Technical Museum in Tensta, which opened last year, offers various weekend adventures with mathematics as the central theme. This weekend there are various pop-ups and spontaneous experiments on the program: card tricks, programming with Lego Spike, controlling a Dash robot, making music with music boxes, Chladnis sound figures and AI.
You can also explore space and discover new ways of thinking there. The branch is open to the public from Friday to Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Here is a link for more information.

Wednesday
Debaser, concert Friday, February 6th.
Critics’ favorites Wednesday, a band from Asheville, North Carolina, broke through in 2023 with the album Rat Saw God, music that mixes raw indie rock with more reserved and atmospheric parts. The record was followed last year by “Bleeds,” which received unanimous praise. Now they are on the stage at Debaser Strand this evening – a performance that could be unforgettable. The band includes indie fixer MJ Lenderman, but he won’t be on stage tonight as his solo career has really taken off.

Men weaving
Kulturhuset Stadsteatern can be seen until March 15th.
Three men have found their place – together at a loom. When doubts and old conflicts creep in, the friendship is put to the test. In “Men who weave,” Lennart Jähkel, Andreas Kundler and Hampus Hallberg describe an everyday life in which conversations, memories and feelings are interwoven.
Alexander Mørk-Eidem’s first self-written play was praised by several reviewers, DN writes that it is a “brilliant” and “brilliantly surprising” performance with an ending that surprises and leaves the audience breathless. Read the review here.

Zero8 & Chanticleer
The Concert Hall, Sunday, February 8th, at 6:30 p.m
One choir, the Grammy Award-winning San Francisco-based Chanticleer, was called “stunning” and “an orchestra of voices” by the Boston Globe. And the Swede Zero8 has won the prestigious European Grand Prix and is a multiple European Barbershop Champion. So there are two world-class choirs that are giving a concert together on Sunday in the concert hall with a variety of choral music: classical, gospel, pop and jazz.

SM in round table tennis – qualification every Wednesday
Ugglan Boule & Bar, Närkesgatan 6, Södermalm
The Swedish round table tennis championship is decided in a cellar on Södermalm. At least the unofficial version. Qualifying matches for the grand final, which will take place on July 1st this summer, take place every Wednesday. The competition is organized so that all club players have a disability, which gives new talent the chance to assert themselves. Maybe you can qualify for the SM.
